Below are the projects that I made over the summer before AP Art Class started. Now, these are not the final products. I will be improving these over the course of the year and reposting them later.
The first picture shown is a water color self portrait that I colored to portray a mood of calm, smooth, serenity like how I usually feel while listening to music. The harsh, black outline at the bottom was added to create a bit of a contrast, but turned out a bit too noticalbe. I will mostlikely try to soften it later. The second project is of my sock drawr with all the socks pulled out and arranged over the sides. I love the linework and shadows, but they could deffinetly be darker and more defined. The next is another pencil drawing of a few random objects submerged in a cup of water. I shaded it mostly by using the sides of my drawing pencils, and it created an interesting texture. The only problem is that the shapes run together and aren't defined. Not to mention that the background needs a bit more detailing. The fourth is a penned picture of a park close to my house, with several children and parents running around and interacting. The pen looks nice, though it needs more value in the backgrounds. The last one is a multimedia painting of my cat, with watercolor fro my bedsheets, color pencil for the designs on it, and hot glued felt for the fur and the cat herself. I like how it turned out, and I look forward to improving it later.
